This idyllic African experience begins upstream of the iconic Victoria Falls in the Zambezi National Park on a pristine, wild paradise on the banks of the Zambezi River which is frequented by elephant, buffalo, hippo, zebra, giraffe, lion and many other animals. Indulge in sublime dining and gracious hospitality, relax in your private plunge pool watching the cavalcade of wildlife from your room, or explore the park on a 4×4 game drive, river safari or walking safari experiencing every aspect this breathtaking utopia.
Your safari ends with 3 nights in the Hwange National Park which boasts over 100 species of mammals and more than 400 birds (with a supporting cast of innumerable insects, spiders amphibians and reptiles – including the world famous Presidential elephants.
The game viewing is superb and the teeming herds of sable, elephant, giraffe, impala, zebra and wildebeest give a hint of the richness of southern Africa’s wildlife in bygone days.
This safari experience begins upstream of Victoria Falls, where you can explore the wilds by 4x4, boat or foot.
The safari then moves to Hwange National Park and its giant herds of elephant.
See the mighty Victoria Falls: One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, the locals call Victoria Falls “Mosi-oa-Tunya”, which means "smoke that thunders" in honour of the roar of the water plunging into the Zambezi River below. You will now be able to tick Victoria Falls off your life’s bucket list.
Visit Hwange National Park: An hour’s drive from Victoria Falls, this package takes in the largest Park in Zimbabwe. At 14,600km2 in size, Hwange National Park is home to the “Presidential Herd” of elephants and is the only place in the country to see giraffe. The vast space the ideal way in which to immerse yourself in the authentic spirit of a safari.
Meet the local people: A traditional safari is not limited to spotting animals. It is about embracing new cultures too. Which is why this package includes an outing to one of the many schools and communities that we have formed relationships with where you can experience the warm hospitality that the people of Africa are known for.
Visit the endangered African wild dogs: The African wild dog – also known as the “painted dog” for its attractive colouring – is one of the most endangered animals in the continent. This package includes an outing to Zimbabwe’s Painted Dog Conservation Centre to meet with the volunteers who are working hard to save these fascinating social creatures from extinction.
