Itineraries

Day 1 – 3

Maramba River Camp Livingstone, Southern Zambia

Maramba River Lodge is ideally located just 4km from the Victoria Falls.

It provides a most attractive all-year-round accommodation base in a shaded woodland setting overlooking the Maramba River. Maramba offers a wide variety of activities in and around the Victoria Falls which include river rafting adventures, falls visits and gorge swings and bungee jumping over the falls! There are also markets, museums and plenty of places to eat in town

Day 3 – 6

Nanzhila Plains Camp Southern section of the Kafue National Park

Today you will depart Livingstone and venture north into Kafue National Park. Nanzhila Safaris operates in the closest true safari area in Zambia to the Victoria Falls and enjoys nearly 3000 sqkm almost to itself. Enjoy a game drive into camp, and settle into the beautiful rooms with views over the dambo to enjoy a two night stay. An incredible variety of wildlife and birding species as well as a magnificent location, overlooking the dambo make Nanzhila one of the most memorable safari camps in Zambia

Day 6 – 9

Kaingu Camp Kafue River, Central Kafue National Park

After a morning activity, time permitting, you will leave Nanzhila Plains and start the journey North to the central Kafue! We will set up camp in the Namwala Game Management Area (GMA) on a spectacular and remote stretch of the Kafue River. The Kafue National Park, just opposite the lodge and only a 10 minute boat trip away, offers magnificent game that you can enjoy viewing from our comfortable open game drive vehicles.

The Kafue River, with all its myriad of channels, rapids and islands lends itself to a range of exciting river based activities which include boat cruises, fishing, birding, canoeing and river trails. From the top of one of the large granite boulders in the Namwala GMA you will get a 360° view over nothing but nature!

Day 9 – 12

Liuwa Plain National Park Western Zambia

After a morning activity, time permitting, you will leave the Kafue and venture in a northwesterly direction to one of Africa’s oldest national parks, Liuwa Plains. The journey will take approximately 7.5 hours, one of the longer transfers of this safari! We will set up a mobile camp in the heart of the plains. The park is characterised by its spectacular flat landscape with wide-open spaces. Its seasonally flooded Zambezi floodplain is dotted with slightly elevated wooded islands.

You will most certainly hear the whoop of a hyena at night when sitting around the campfire. Interestingly enough, Hyenas are the apex predator here. It is believed there are around 350 individuals in the park! Other species of fauna include Lion, cheetah and wild dog.

Day 12 – 14

Sioma Falls Mobile Camp Sioma Falls, Western Zambia

Sioma Falls is is the second largest waterfall on the Zambezi river. Here, the Zambezi is narrow and has deep fast flowing water, with cascading rapids and lots of black volcanic rock. The fishing at Sioma Falls is excellent and you stand a good chance of catching a big tiger. The camp overlooks an expanse of “coral white” beach and the basalt black cliffs which harness the mighty Zambezi River.
