Surefoot Safaris operate exclusively from their tented bush camp, “Mapazi Camp,” located in the far north of South Luangwa National Park. Nestled under mature trees on the banks of the Luangwa River, Mapazi provides an authentic camping experience with a few essential comforts.
All activities will be privately guided by Deb Tittle, a renowned safari guide with over 20 years guiding experience. Walking with Deb you will get to explore Luangwa’s Unspoilt wilderness, track big game on foot, watch magical birdlife and uncover some of natures’ best kept secrets.
In an area renowned for walking, Mapazi is one of South Luangwa’s best camps, thanks to its exceptional owner/guide Deb Tittle
Mapazi may be one of the new camps on the block in South Luangwa, but its renowned owner and guide Deb Tittle has been leading walking safaris in the park for over 20 years.
It was always her dream to have her own bush camp here and now it’s come true. She and partner Jane Addey have worked tirelessly to create a camp that is unpretentious and no-frills, but very comfortable and most importantly, friendly and fun.
They’ve trained their team from scratch and all of them worked on setting up camp, so have a great pride and connection to their work. Mapazi’s location is beautiful, just set back from the Luangwa River in the far north of the park, miles away from other camps.
It has everything you need – hot showers, cold G&T’s, good food and a comfy bed. But Deb’s style of walking, creating incredible wildlife experiences and memories by tracking and getting up close to big game (always with an eye to your personal safety) is what Mapazi is all about.
